Justin Watson (Assistant Coach)
Justin Watson is the Assistant Mens Coach at Wesleyan University. Justin was a rower and
captain at Middletown High School. At Franklin Pierce University, Justin continued to excel as
an athlete in their rowing program. After receiving his BA from Franklin Pierce, Justin became
the Novice Assistant Coach at Middletown High and then quickly found a home next door at
Wesleyan University. Justin and Wendy both coach the Youth Program.

Nancy Watson (Assistant Coach)
Coach Nancy has been part of Middletown Rowing for about 15 years. Nancy received her
start in rowing in this very program and is now the Junior Varsity Coach at Middletown High
School. Nancy has rowed at the Masters level and will help oversee the Adult Rowing
Program.

Wendy Sheil (Head Coach/Program Director)
Wendy is the Head Coach of Central Connecticut Rowing and its program director. Wendy
is also the Head Coach of the Middletown High School Boys Crew. Wendy was a varsity
rower for Middletown HS (CT) Crew and the University of Pennsylvania from 1976 - 1983.
In 2000, Wendy came back to Middletown High Rowing as an assistant coach while rowing in
the Masters Women’s Rowing Program (now CCR). Wendy has great passion for rowing and
brings a history of successful rowing experience, a wealth of information and energy to Central
Connecticut Rowing.
Wendy has lived in Middletown most of her life, married to Jay and has two sons,
Ryan and Tyler – Tyler is a varsity rower for MHS.
